Menopause & Perimenopause
How this affects you
Midlife can signal a profound shift for women and not just hormonally.
Symptoms may include anxiety, pain, mood swings, brain-fog, hot-flushes and insomnia. Some women may find their relationships under strain and the demands of work and family life overwhelming.
Whilst these changes may be extremely challenging to cope with, menopause and perimenopause also provide women with an opportunity to grow, reflect and explore how the second-half of life might look different in positive ways.
Having gone through these change myself and emerged on the other side I will support you with understanding and hope.
How I help as a therapist supporting women with menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms
In our sessions we will:
Explore how your symptoms are impacting your life and agree goals for therapy and a treatment plan
Use hypnotherapy, relaxation and mindfulness to alleviate the impact of symptoms. These techniques can be particularly beneficial if you experience pain, anxiety, hot flushes and mood swings.
Work within the framework of CBT to help you address insomnia and to discover where your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are holding you back.
Use ACT to explore your values and any action you want to take to move into the second half of life feeling hopeful and positive.
